School's Out!!

All five of our kids have had an excellent school year!
Jace was enrolled in the SUU Early Intervention program a few months ago. They are working on his speech. We have been excited to see his progress in just a short time. They let me know that he most likely won't qualify for the program next year, so he needs to enjoy it while it lasts! Pictured with Jace is Miss Bertha, who is his main teacher.
Alyssa has loved going to the Kid Connection Preschool with Miss Dolly this year. She attended school three days a week for two and a half hours a day. She really has excelled on her own academically, but really needed the social outlet at school. She made lots of cute friends that she will miss.
Jocey just finished the fourth grade with Mrs. Sherratt as her teacher. I actually grew up with Mrs. Sherratt and my dad taught her when she was in fourth grade at South Elementary. Small world isn't it!?! Jocey had a wonderful year and excelled in every subject. Her last report card came out at 101% She also made tons of friends. She said she is excited for summer, but is sad to leave her teacher.
Spencer had a new teacher named Mr. Sahagun that came highly recommended. He couldn't have had a better year. He actually ended school with 102%. Spence worked extra hard on his reading, which is his most challenging subject. He also did very well socially. It's so funny, because every time I would walk past the fifth graders, they would call, "Hi Mrs. Spencer's Mom". I couldn't think of a better title.
And last but certainly not least, Nicholas just ended another great year in the self-contained special needs class at Iron Springs Elementary here in Cedar. This is just the second year that the school has been opened. Before that, his class was located at South Elementary. His teacher is Mrs. Bowden, who I cannot say enough about. Since he has been in Cedar City, he has done far better than he has ever done. I appreciate that Mrs. Bowden and her staff care so much for him and always have his best interest at heart.
I recognize the time and effort our public educators put into their jobs. In fact, it usually is much more than just a job, it becomes part of their lives. Thank you to those who have taught and cared for my kids!!
