Alyssa the Star!!

This was Alyssa's "Star of the Week" week at school. She has been so excited for several weeks! We worked on her poster last Saturday and filled out her info. sheet. She has been contemplating what to bring for her treat. I think we've settled on cookies. But we've got to make sure there is a girl kind and a boy kind.
Completing these kinds of assignments brings to focus the importance of each child in my life. Each of my children has added so much to our family. This week, since it is all about Alyssa, I'll talk a little about her.
Alyssa is such a fun little girl. She is very animated and dramatic. It has really been fun watching her interact with Nicholas since he's been home. She mothers over him and always makes sure he is included.
With our new schedule this year, we have had mom and dad over doing some babysitting. Alyssa and Jace absolutely love it when Granny and Papa come over. In fact, Alyssa puts on a performance for them every time they come. She stands up on the piano bench and performs songs and dances. She also has them teaching her how to play the piano! The greatest part of the whole performance is the instructions she gives them. Before she starts, she tells them to make sure and sit quiet. If they clap too early, she scolds them. And if they don't clap at the right moment, she lets them know. My dad always says that it is amazing that we have such a dramatic and outgoing soul that has Roper blood. As an addition to the story, I have to mention that Jace follows Alyssa's every move. He tries to climb up and perform with her. It is quite the circus! I have to include one additional story about my parents coming over throughout the week. Alyssa has a cute friend named Craig that is 4 years old. He lives just two houses up from us. He started performing with Alyssa when my mom and dad would come over. My parents fussed over every performance and Craig loved it! One day Craig came to the door and Chris answered. He asked Chris if Alyssa's grandpa was here. Chris told him that he wasn't here right now. Without a word, Craig turned and ran home! What cute little kids we have!
Happy Star of the Week, Lys!!

Star of the Week is the coolest thing ever! I love it when it's my boys' turn. Making the poster together is always so fun and neat to re-cap all their special things and attributes too!
